The Police Station is only 150 metres

curve and open

Smart Street,
Fairfield, N.S.W.
in 1996.
Sadly, Russell did not get there.
It was about two a.m. Saturday,
third of June, 1995, and Russell
Lyons was running from the
pursuing gang, but he was caught in the little laneway, right in the centre of this photograph, robbed of his wallet and his expensive shoes, then kicked to death with the most extraordinary viciousness.
There was shock and anger at the time, but the Police know that shock and anger do not last for years and it would all soon be forgotten, and no Policeman
would lose any pay.
